Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable Automotive Service Porter to maintain cleanliness and organization in our service vehicle area. This role supports the smooth operation of the service department by moving and cleaning vehicles, assisting technicians, and ensuring a positive experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a neat and orderly service vehicle lot by moving cars as directed and following display standards.
  • Clean service department areas, including the drive, write-up area, and shop.
  • Wash and clean the interior and exterior of vehicles, including trunks and glove compartments.
  • Apply specialized cleaners to remove grease and other difficult materials from vehicles and engines.
  • Assist technicians with maintaining cleanliness and organization in the service department.
  • Perform property maintenance tasks to uphold dealership appearance.
  • Greet customers in a courteous and friendly manner promptly.
  • Drive shuttle vehicles and park customer vehicles from service.
  • Complete all required training, including OSHA right-to-know training.
  • Follow company policies and procedures, including wearing a company-approved uniform.
  • Empty trash and police dealership grounds as needed.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by management to support operations.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Work environment may be noisy.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, and handling tools required.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly.
  • Work near moving mechanical parts and exposure to substances such as battery acid, gasoline, cleaning chemicals, exhaust fumes, and airborne particles.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Current and valid driver’s license with satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
  • Strong work ethic, organized, and positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Education and Experience

  • No previous retail or automotive experience required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
